Third trip here and I love it more than ever. When can I move?!

Desk update and new bits

Sunday, 22 June 2014
My last room tour post got a lot of love, so I thought I would do like an updated desk version. I've added some new bits and bobs and its also an opportunity to show some things I've been loving. You can view my room tour here.
Palmistry hand from Urban Outfitters.
This cloth my perfumes are on top of is from a market in Laos and it was really dirty, ripped and generally quite rank but I really liked it. I couldn't even barter with the lady selling it as I pointed out the rips and huge stains (on the back) and in the end I paid like £3 for this (literally crazy in that kind of country) and she was chuckling because I was just a stupid tourist and she had basically sold me a scrap of material that looked like it belonged in a bin. But here it is!
My Shu Uemura brush (20) is literally my favourite brush ever and although its not new, It deserved some love. I also picked up NARS satin lip pencil in Biscayne Park on the recommendation from Rumi's beauty post. I adore the Olsens and their Elizabeth and James fashion house so was excited to sniff and inevitably purchase their new perfumes. I would of bought the full size but I only had hand luggage when in America booooooo.
also a welcome new addition is my leather makeup bag. While I was in new york I stumbled upon the American Apparel outlet and more purchases were made. I managed to get this for $35 (roughly £20) when its RRP £38 over here. I love the dark lilac colour and the buttery leather although I'm slightly paranoid about getting it dirty.
Obviously my favourite sunglasses had to get a mention.

Next: my actual New york photo diaries yay.

the pink coat of dreams

Sunday, 8 June 2014
This coat thankfully came back into stock on Topshop for a brief period. I bought it right there and then and patiently waited for it to arrive in the spotty packaging. Since then I've been swishing around in it (rain or shine, inside or outside.. everywhere). I even wore it to a trip to Nobu and prayed that my inability to use chopsticks correctly didn't result in food spilling everywhere.

Even though it was so pricey I'm definitely trying to minimise what seasonal crap i buy and favour more statement, investment pieces that will be timeless or last me a few years. That means trying to seriously downsize my wardrobe so I only have clothes that I actually wear. No more hoarding that sequin top or my endless collection of satchels because if I aint' used them in the past 24 months, it doesn't look good for the future.
