I'm going to New York very soon, and my list of recommendations is already as long as my arm, but I would love to know some more. If anyone has any suggestions, stuff to eat/buy/see/do a comment would be super appreciated. Any links to blog posts about NY too, thank you in advance. Definitely ready to fall in love with the city.
wish I could help but sadly this gal has never been to new york - I feel so deprived

Totally agree about Bleecker Records, just up the road from there is the famous Magnolia Bakery, and on Perry Street, just round the corner, is Carry's stoop from SATC. For $12 you can hire a rowing boat at the Boathouse in Central Park too, which is so much fun and so cheap! Also, go to Bubba Gump's for food at Times Sq, the Forest Gump restaurant - it is SOOOO much fun! Also, the Staten Island ferry is free so you can go to Staten Island or just go there and back to see the NY skyline. Ohh, and Katz Deli in the Lower East Side is the diner used on When Harry Met Sally where she does the fake orgasm. There's a plaque above the table! Sooo yeah, hope that helps! Have fun xx
ReplyDeleteBuffalo Exchange in Chelsea for good shopping, Union Square for somewhere just to take it all in, West Village for wondering cus it's nice.xx
ReplyDeleteTake me with you haha... I'm sure you'll have an amazing time!

Apart from the obvious Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Statue of Liberty - try to get to Greenwich Village, it's got an awesome atmosphere about it, particularly Washington Square Park, and the Friends apartment! There's loads of cultural connections there too - hundreds of authors, artists, musicians lived there, or places where Jimi Hendrix played. Strawberry Fields in Central Park is lovely. It really helps to do your research before you go since there's soo much to see!

I'd definitely recommend a cafe called Serendipity. They do amazing burgers and the best/biggest ice cream sundaes ever! They get a lot of famous people in there, I was sat on a table right next to Jude Law! Have a great trip :)
ReplyDeleteIf you have seen "Friends With Benefits" then go to the cafe they are in at the end for breakfast! They have the best food and service ever!! It's right outside Grand Central Station. Have Fun!! New York is amazing and I want to live there one day :)

ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to be going to NYC! I grew up there and it is my favorite city in the world. I would recommend Marc Jacob's bookstore, Bookmarc for a fun shopping experience. 5th avenue is an obvious choice but incredibly fun for both food and shopping. Have a wonderful trip, dear!

I've never been there before unfortunately. Have fun!
